This Yoga practice welcomes all who are curious about connecting Yoga to their everyday lives. Detail to alignment will allow you to explore your range of motion with precision and depth while providing confidence to be playful in your practice.
Amanda Cooley was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario. She grew up with a love of dance, gymnastics, and soccer. She has always used movement as a form of expression, putting on ‘shows’ for her family members in her living room and upgrading to the stage in high school. When she took her first yoga class in University, she was naturally drawn to the practice. In 2008, Amanda graduated with her 300-hour yoga certification through The Yoga Studio College of Canada in Calgary, Alberta under the guidance of Senior Iyengar instructors, Rob Walker and Val Petrich. Since 2008, Amanda has trained extensively in various yoga traditions with a special interest in rehabilitative movement through the Iyengar tradition and she collectively has over 1000 hours of yoga training.
With a background in the Iyengar style of Yoga, Amanda seamlessly cues her students safely in and out of poses with careful attention to detail in a progressive manner. Her direct focus on alignment allows her students to explore their range of motion with precision and depth, giving them the confidence to be playful in their practice.
In 2009, Amanda’s love of travel and her wanderlust spirit brought her to a yoga ashram in India where she lived, worked and studied Bhakti – the practice of devotion. She strives to intertwine all aspects of Bhakti into her teachings and her everyday life, living her yoga fully on and off the mat.
