The program consists of 12 weeks of exercise classes, eight educational sessions, as well as a pre- and post- examinations. At the pre-examination, you will be assessed to ensure that you will be able to safely participate in the program.

The costs of the program are not covered by OHIP. The cost of the program includes an examination, 12 weeks of programming and education sessions. One third of the payment is due at the onset of the program, one third is due at week four and one third is due at week eight. Payment can be made by credit card, or by cheque.

The program is currently limited to four participants per class, which helps to ensure adequate one-on-one supervision. There are no refunds or make up sessions for classes which are not attended. With your registration in the program, your place within the classes are reserved for the full 12 weeks.

Classes are managed by our Kinesiologist, Renee Johnstone. She has an Undergraduate degree in Physical Education and a Masters of Science degree in Applied Sports Science and the Theory of Coaching from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. Prior to moving to North Bay in 2007, Renee worked with a multi-disciplinary team in Cardiac Education & Rehabilitation at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center. Her background, past experience and knowledge in cardiac rehabilitation will continue to assist her in promoting healthy active living. Renee is passionate about promoting healthy living and cardiovascular health.
